My project is to be able to provide my students options of comfortable (flexible) seating while learning. One area of focus will be writing. Students often lose focus when writing a long paper. If they have a more comfortable seat, they will be able to focus on their work and not adjusting their seating position. The writing books will help my students in writing informational text following step by step planning. My project will also allow me to provide a strong physical education program for my students. Physical education is an important part of our day. My class gets so excited when I say " its time for PE." I enjoy encouraging my students to be active. The PE equipment that I have requested will help me reach the entire class, by having all participating and not waiting (as they have to now, with the one ball I have). We exercise in the morning, which has shown a positive result in our daily learning. My project will support and accommodate my students that have a hard time sitting in one position and need to move as they think. The flexible seating materials will allow my students to make choices that will allow them to be the most successful learner. I have sampled a few of the flexible seating materials and my students were excited to try them and to learn about other options. They said they felt more relaxed and focused because they were happy.
