I am requesting various seating options for my class of 15. First graders are adapting to sitting for longer periods of time and learning to increase their attention span. The bouncy bands allow students to sit in a chair with added physical activity. This will allow for longer concentration and improved learning. Creating sensory benefits, physical activity, and increasing brain function. This addition to the classroom allows them to have more on task behavior. My students are struggling readers and find it difficult to self-motivate and pick up a book. The various seating options will allow my students to read in comfort. The rug, bean bags, and balance balls will make reading fun. I want my students to enjoy reading and the benefits literacy provides.
