In a perfect world, every student will stay after school to meet with their teacher to get notes when they are absent. But, as we all know this is not a perfect world and life can be busy for teenage students with extra curricular actives after school. A student's education should never be compromised because they are absent from school. The SWIVL is technology that I can use in my classroom to record lessons with ease. The device will allow me as the teacher to wear a microphone and set up a camera that will follow the microphone around the room. At the completion of each day, I will post the recorded lesson for students to have access to. This will be a great resource for those absent to catch up with ease and receive the same lesson as those in class. It will also serve as a place for students to look back at the notes to review what they know and pick up any information they may have missed. This will increase student engagement. They can now participate more during class and worry less about getting all the notes because they will have access to the lesson again. It will also keep those who are absent up to date and prevent them from missing any new material if they are not able to stay after school to lean the missed material.
