Having flexible seating in our classroom will help give students choices about their physical classroom space and teach them higher order thinking skills. An uncomfortable student is a distracted and unproductive student. It will encourage students to find their best spot to stay calm, focused, and productive. They can be their best selves. By using the base ten blocks it gives the students a concrete representation of place value and gives them number sense. We can use them in all operations across our math core and in all standards. Currently we do not have enough for all classroom students and would greatly help each learner.
