Some of my students come from homes that don't have many books or the time to read those books on a daily basis. I want to give every student the opportunity to listen to various books read to them each day. Research shows that students who are read to on a daily basis, out perform those that haven’t been read to. Listening to other people read and following print helps to increase students reading levels, word recognition and their fluency levels. By having a working and reliable listening center, this will help my students to improve in all of these areas.
