As of now, my students share long tables to sit in during class. These desks are bulky, large, outdated, and one even has a broken leg. Many students have to deal with being seated very close together, and things can get disorganized as there is no where for students to store their supplies except for their backpacks. The tables are large and take up too much space, which leads to difficulty navigating around the room. With their chairs and backpacks hanging off these chairs, going up and down the rows can be tedious. I would also love to be able to have the students sit on the floor while I read to them, but unfortunately, they must stay in their desks as there is not enough floor space for all students. I believe these desks would free up some space. The desks I am hoping to get have their own book/notebook compartments, hooks to hang backpacks and water bottles, and pencil slots. Students would be less distracted and learning would take place more smoothly and efficiently.
