At our school we have gone from a mindset of physics being reserved for a few students to the idea that all students should have the opportunity to learn and understand physics concepts. The result of this shift has been a need for a lot more supplies for a much more hands on physics learning environment. What looks like play with springs is actually a very powerful way for our students to visualize both the types of wave motions and the different parts of waves. Once they understand waves, they will be able to look at the light produced from different atomic spectra, connecting both to what they learned in chemistry and to what they are learning about the formation of the universe itself.

About my class
