I am a 5th grade math teacher at a Title 1 school which means many of my students come from low income families and receive free or reduced lunch. My students face many challenges in their day and I want their math classroom to be a haven that reduces those challenges and allows them to learn and explore in a comfortable environment. Some of my students learn differently because of intellectual disabilities, emotional disturbances, autism spectrum disorders and specific learning disabilities. I hope to educate my students about their learning differences and teach them the tools that they will need for success in school and in life. I accept all students where they are and challenge them to grow each and every day. It is my hope that they will leave me with confidence in their ability as a learner.
