Using raised beds for our garden will help in many different ways. While working in the garden, my students will be able to learn about gardening and will also be able to teach their families how to start a garden. It will also promote a stronger bond with the students by having to work together for one common purpose, giving back. Most importantly we will be able to give fresh vegetables to the middle school next door to help with their "Backpack Buddies" program. These students will be provided with food to share with their families that are less fortunate, and they will also share in learning how to garden, all while promoting a healthier lifestyle.
