Our elementary is a open concept school, therefore, we have limited wall space. Every morning I would love to go over the days of the week, month and date! The easel will help us have somewhere to put our calendar, so that we can help students with the days/months, and date! Seating arrangements are also very special when it comes to special education students! I have different students in my classroom all day. Some are in here more than others! Having different seating cushions and seating options will allow students to have somewhere else to sit on around the room. I would also use the seat cushions and bean bags for my Read 180 class. Read 180 it split into three stations, and one of those stations is independent reading. During this time students have a book that is at their reading level, and they go to my reading corner to read if. If students are uncomfortable on the ground they are more likely to lose focus and start walking around the classroom or start to talk.
