From chalkboards to dry erase boards, overhead projectors to LCD projectors, snail mail to E-mails, pay phones to cell phones, we are moving forward with technology and providing better resources for our students. We need an iPad and case. This iPad will be an extra resource used in the classroom to promote student independence and competence in the real world. Extra help will be just one click away from the comfort of their homes or even on their cell phone! An iPad will allow my team and I to create videos for our students that they can use at any time. Some students travel on public transportation for up to an hour to get to school each morning. Imagine if they could use that time to watch a day's lesson and get ahead! Most of our students work at night, take care of younger siblings, or have children of their own. All of our students are English Language Learners and will benefit greatly from the math videos as they can speed them up, slow them down, or translate them. Students with disabilities can also use the videos as an alternative representation of the class materials. These videos will make the math curriculum accessible to all of our students, and we need an iPad to make them!
