I am a special education teacher in Houston, TX. The students I teach are African American and Latino students who live under distressed conditions. My students have a range of learning disabilities, some are autistic, and English language learners. This range of abilities fills our classroom with much color and personality, however it can be difficult to support each student without proper tools. Our school is limited in what they can provide and often our students go without. One would assume that student's go to school and have everything they need but most students do not even basic necessities like pencils. This usually becomes the burden of the teacher. We want the best for our student's but these expenses can add up and the school simply does not have the funding to help each student. With your help there are so many resources that can be used to enrich the education these student's receive.
