Our school is a K-6th grade building consisting of 800+ students located in a rural town south of St. Louis. Our teachers are looking to advance their student learning, experience, knowledge, and understanding of technology through a 3D printing system. Although our school offers STEM opportunities and a variety of clubs such as Coding Club, we feel that a 3D Printer would help boost our student technology exposure. In addition, our sister elementary currently has a similar system in which we'd like to also utilize the ideas they share with us. Specifically, at the primary levels (K-2), we would love a system like this to help teach the comparing and contrasting of 2D and 3D shapes. The system would be an excellent hands-on experience for the students to actually see the development of a 3D shape while providing the real-life application. At the upper levels (3-6), we could use the system in a variety of subject areas. For example, the system would be ideal for creating models of geometrical shapes, as well as making our very own math manipulatives. It could also provide models of plant/animal cells for science classes, while offering models of sarcophagus, geography, and historical artifacts for social studies classes. For our special area classes, a 3D printer system would allow students to see their sketches of sculptures come to life, while the library/technology rotation could help facilitate the use of this system. Overall, as a building, many students would benefit from behavior fidget devices created from this system that are educationally appropriate. As you see, our elementary is looking for a system like this to enhance our student learning and experience in multiple areas throughout the building. We truly believe that this system
