The colored pencils will be used weekly to accommodate color-coded writing strategies for ELL, special needs, and standard students, as we read, discuss, and write about the Civil Rights and read The Watsons go to Birmingham. Using markers and foldables. Students will also be creating comic strips to represent plot events in each chapter of our novel! Student will also be using colored pencils to annotate each text as we closely read. Students will be reading, discussing, and writing about personal connections, historical connections, and real-world connections. The colored pencils and markers will enhance each step of this unit!
