With up to an estimated 20% of general education students having sensory challenges, leading to over or under stimulation that can lead to difficulties in learning and behavior. Evidence strongly shows that implementing alternative seating in a classroom benefits both the teachers and the students. Implementing alternative seating in a classroom has been shown to increase better focus and attention on the task at hand, improve attendance, reduce fidgeting or wiggling, promote self-regulation and leads to improved classroom behavior and higher academic performance. :-)
