The journalism program at our school is brand new. We are excited to pioneer this endeavor; however, we are lacking the necessary technology needed to be successful. With the iPad, camcorder, digital voice recorder, and microphone, students will be able to see their voices matter. Students can see journalism in action and truly realize what is involved in the profession. Students will be able to create videos, podcasts, and other media that they can be proud of. Students will also be able to work with technology they may not have used before. This can help spark an interest in a future career in journalism or even IT. This is a class that is designed to prepare students for life after high school. By having a chance to explore new technology and the power of their own voices and creativity, I believe they will be ready for the challenges after high school.
