A variety of struggling students enter my classroom. I work with students who have learning disabilities, health impairments, as well as students who are just having a hard time. My goal is to help them become successful learners and teach them the skills they will need to succeed both in and out of school. Our school hopes to implement technology and blended learning into the classroom. As a study skills teacher I use a variety of online resources to help improve student learning and provide extra support. We use online flashcards, games, sites for remediation of skills. Right now there are not enough computers available to consistently provide these opportunities for learning. My students need access to technology to complete a variety of activities, homework, and remediation. Some of these students do not have access to a computer outside of school, but require this technology to be successful high school students.
