As a teacher of gifted learners, I work hard to keep up with my students. I strive to find and provide challenges that will help them grown as learners and people. I work to expose them to new things or new ways of looking at the same things. My students work on various projects throughout the year. Each grade level has a different unit-study topic, but ultimately I'm focusing more intently on teaching them how to become independent life-long learners. In my class, we talk often about ways to take responsibility for our own learning and increase our own brain-power. My students are taught and expected to make choices related to their assignments and learning outcomes. I hope to spark motivation in them to be their own muse and continue to seek out their own answers long after their elementary school days end.
