I love using the smartboard to teach students and have been using it for the past 4 years in my classroom. The computer that I've been using it with was a used computer that the school gave to me when I began teaching. It wasn't in too bad of shape when I got it but now it won't turn on at all. Some of the best and engaging lessons I teach work best through my smart board and without a working computer, I cannot do anything on the board. I went to our computer technician hoping I could get a decent computer, even if it was used. I ended up with a computer that has MANY problems, from the VGA port not working (which is what I need to use my smart board) to it randomly turning off in the middle of class while i'm using it. Having a working computer in class would be a great blessing for not just me, but for the students as well. Students now days learn better when being able to be entertained. Technology seems to be the best entertainment a teenager can have. With the smart board, they get to come work problems out on the board and they love being able to use the board, which in turn, engages them in learning.
