These materials will help assist with my transition as a new teacher currently using traditional teaching methods, into teaching students using comprehensible input- a new way that focuses on the language as a whole rather than in smaller grammar and vocabulary parts. These books will give students something tangible to hold while they are learning the language. I plan on using the TPRS novels to introduce the students to reading in the target language, and becoming confident in their abilities. The picture books will also be used to improve listening skills, as students can listen to the stories while also having the pictures to associate the words with. Students will also use these books as guides to creating their own picture books in Spanish.
