The majority of the students in my classroom have no or very limited speech. Picture communication is the best route for my students to learn to express their wants and needs. iPads are currently one of the best tools for this, they are easy for parents and students to use and offer many options of applications to suit individual students needs. These iPads will give my students a voice! This is the most important gift we can give, the ability to say, "I am hungry", "My head hurts", "give me a hug", or even "Leave me alone!". They will be able to interact more effectively with their peers, teachers and families with the use of these important tools.
