Teenagers want choices. I want my students to have "choices" in what they will spend time reading in my classroom. I believe that when a student chooses a book for their own reading, they are more likely to finish the book, enjoy it and learn from it. I am asking for fifteen copies of The Secret Life of Bees, The Things They Carried and I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced. I am also asking for thirty subscriptions to Scholastic Action magazine. Learning is all about making connections. By providing my students with the three novels and the nonfiction texts from Scholastic Action Magazine, they can make real-life connections right in our classroom. Please consider donating to my project. By doing so you are helping my students experience a "trip" outside of my classroom walls and into other worlds and experiences.
