I have some fun ideas on how I can connect Dash Robots to Alaska place-based sciences. For example, salmon spawning is a huge part of the culture in Alaska. Students can program a Dash to maneuver through obstacles similar to the way salmon navigate and avoid obstacles along their journey to spawn. My main goal is for students to collaborate and problem solve together in a fun and creative way! Connecting Dash programming to math standards would be a great way to study angles in geometry, and how pattern based geometry can be. We are a Title I school, and very few of my students have the opportunity to code outside of school - this could be it!
