We are currently using chairs that are 20 years old. They are broken and not very comfortable for my students. I currently do not have enough chairs if I have a large group and we have to sit on the floor. Appropriate seating is critical for good speech production and learning! Many of my students have motor, cognitive, attention, behavior or sensory issues. These students need proper seating to facilitate appropriate posture, breathing, and attention. Therapy on the floor is not conducive for speech. Chairs that allow a child to move around and sit properly facilitate speech/language progress and learning.
