My dyslexic students need assistance with reading and comprehension. By the time students are in high school and still struggling with reading, many have decided to give up and stop trying. Many of the students I am currently teaching are at a point where they are feeling very discouraged. These graphic novels will help the students in my dyslexia intervention class with their reading but also encourage them by giving them more digestible segments of text. It is important for them not only to understand the plot, but also get to the point where they can start thinking critically and analyzing aspects of the story. With these graphic novels, this goal will be achieved.
