Students need to discover an excitement for mathematics. I teach sixth through eighth grade mathematics in a high-need, economically disadvantaged school in Michigan. My school and my students are amazing and we do the best with what we have. I frequently teach using my laptop which is hooked up to an LCD projector. PowerPoint, the Internet, and even a student "remote control" program are used to help my students find a love for mathematics. Even though we face many challenges, my students are motivated to learn, in some cases, winning awards for their learning. I am truly inspired to make mathematics as accessible as possible for them.

About my class
