My K-8 general music students come to my classroom with knowledge of music from the world around them. Familiar with famous hip-hop and pop artists who share their hometown of Southside Chicago, these students have already begun to develop a personal identity through music. Our class will use music as a vessel to transition from what they know about some contemporary American artists and genres to learning cultures of music from all over the world. Re-introducing music to the school is just one of the ways that this school is investing in its students' personal growth, but it takes a village to raise a child, and our classroom can use your support. By donating to this developing classroom, you are helping to develop a community of well-rounded individuals at Gresham School of Excellence.
