Our kindergarten classroom is a place of discovery and growth. My class is devoted to learning how to read and I am devoted to increase their contact with books. Although everything in kindergarten is magical, their favorite part of the day is when they get to search our class library for interesting books to read and to put into their book boxes. My students can feel the power of reading and have embraced it. Nothing quite makes them feel as independent as identifying the kinds of books they like. I want them to be able to have a wider variety of books for choose from. I want them to find books that excite them and help them to increase in their enjoyment of reading. Expanding our class library will aid us in meeting these goals.
