The students in my class are at a great economic disadvantage because of our rural setting and the current economy. Employment for their parents is hard to come by. Elective programs like mine are being dropped everywhere because the State of Maine continues to cut funding for schools. Half of the students in my class this year are enrolled in special needs programs and all but 2 qualify for free or reduced school meals. They need your help and so do I!
