Many students in my class struggle to maintain attention and often distract their peers with their constant movement. They are fidgety thirds graders and they can't help it. We spend lots of time working around the room and on the floor. Many students end up rolling around on the floor and not participating in the group work. Providing flexible seating options for students in perpetual motion will not only allow them to focus on the task at hand, but also provide a positive work environment for the students working near them. Yoga balls, inflatable disks, and chair bands provide constant subtle movement that allows those wiggly students the movement they need and an environment conducive to learning the all students deserve.
