Most of my students do not get exposure to art experiences such as museums, art classes, and at-home craft projects. They need opportunities to engage in authentic painting experiences to give them a broader understanding of an artist's craft. The easels and the canvases will allow them to work as an actual artist would. Displaying their masterpieces in school and at home will help them make a personal connection to the experience giving them ownership over what they have learned. Through this creative process, they will also gain skills in critiquing the works of famous artists and begin generating what they consider art. Let's make these students artists!
