A carpet in our class will help the students have a place to sit in the classroom and share their likes and dislikes. Instead of having to move 25 chairs in the classroom to meet as a whole class. Having a carpet will save time on transitions when we are meeting as a group. We would use our time as a class to work on social skills and learning activities through out the school day. Over the summer, I took a restorative practices training. To work on building a class community. I would need the students to sit in a circle. Due to not having a carpet we have been moving chairs to make a circle or standing in a circle. Having a carpet will make the transitions faster and less disruptive .
