Students can make a number of connections through visual learning. Connections can be made on a personal level, or by connecting texts read, and even by connecting what they are learning in class to what is going on in the world around them! Without a projector, visual learning simply isn't possible. Please help me to provide varied avenues of learning for my struggling students. I am a technology teacher for 3rd, 4th and 5th graders and my current projector only works sporadically. Visual learning accomplishes two tasks: it helps students make a connection to the text or material being presented, while it also activates background knowledge that a student may possess on a given subject.
