My students are eager learners who have a thirst for incorporating technology into their daily lives. They learn best when engaging in hands-on activities, creating projects, presentation and taking advantage of the many educational online resources available to them through our school system. However, our class is deficient in up-to-date technology. One monitor is not working properly and needs to be replaced and another has a broken soundbar. It is very difficult for the students to take full advantage of technological advances when when our hardware is constantly failing. Additionally, although we have 2 printers in the classroom, due to limited resources, I am unable to purchase ink. The materials being requested in this project, would greatly improve this situation! These would enable the students to work actively and collaboratively on projects across the curriculum using online resources. The students will be able to use the laptop at their tables within their groups. Those not on the laptop will be able to use the existing technology once the monitor and speaker are replaced. With ink now available the students would be able to print instantly while remaining in the classroom. These materials will enable the students to perform research, tap into a wide range of online programs and create and bind presentations using the hole puncher. The materials will provide my students with an opportunity to actively engage in their learning in a fun, interactive way.
