With today's emphasis on technology, it is important to give my students the advantage of using the internet to further their learning in all the core subjects. This would give not only my students the chance to use a computer, whether to research a subject, or using educational apps to help with their learning, but I can also use it for class presentations, as well as read-alouds. My second graders enjoy reading and listening to great books, so why not have them not only visualize a story, but also give them an opportunity to see stories shown in different ways or from different cultures? The internet is a gateway to the world, giving my students a bird's eye view of other cultures and people from other countries.
