Our students have a strong need to fidget. Unlike adults, they have sensory systems that are still developing. Focus in the classroom is a struggle for many students. Being in motion allows their brains to be engaged. Constant movement helps to assist students in focusing on the task at hand. Allowing this movement in our classrooms, will provide students with an environment in which they can reach their full potential as learners. These balls have been used in my special needs classroom. If you are an educator, you know that special needs aren't just limited to self-contained classes. Children with special needs are in all of our classrooms. Research shows that moving in the classroom has improved behavior and focus as well as legible word productivity. Gaiam balls will provide the movement students need for their special learning needs.
