Students will carry the stress relieving objects with them to reduce the stress they feel wherever they may be. This will help them to deal with their feels of anxiety or discomfort in a non-obtrusive way to enable them to continue learning while in the classroom setting. The object can also be used as an anchor object to allow for a sense of calm when in a stimulating situation or place. The sketch books will be used to create gratitude journals and event journals to help students to express their feelings and thoughts in a safe and productive way (individual or group counseling). The balancing of stress with gratitude can help the students to find their own sense of inner peace which translates into more focused students in the classroom. Through the usage of the stress relieving objects and the sketch book journals students would have access to tools to help with reducing overstimulation, anxiety, and overall feelings of personal discomfort. A more positive state of mind can lead one to be more open to connection and growth.
