Teaching the Common Core standards requires you to teach the standards in a variety of ways. One of the best ways we can teach these standards is through the use of technology. With these iPads, my students will be able to participate in more technology enhanced lessons. They will be able to download specific apps that will increase their knowledge and allow them to participate in technology-based assignments, activities, or virtual field trips. The possibilities are endless! They will be able to use these devices to scan QR codes that are relevant to the lessons. They will be able to create their own QR codes about their work to share with their classmates. They will also be able to take their Accelerated Reading tests on these devices, as well as practicing their multiplication and division facts through various apps. These iPads could benefit us and our classroom in so many ways. The wireless mice would be more age-appropriate for my students. They are much more friendly to use than the standard touch pad on laptops, especially the mini laptops. This would help them complete tasks, assignments, and participate in fun learning activities more easily. We are only provided with a certain limit of copies per month due to budgets. They are nowhere near enough what we need for all of the great things we are doing and using in my classroom. With printer ink, I could print out all of the resources my students would need to participate in class projects. These resources would include the QR code scan activities that they would use with their iPad minis. All of these items would change our classroom for the better!
