Having these alternative seating arrangements for my students will allow them to become better students. Sitting all day in a classroom can be extremely hard for students, especially those with ADHD or with Autism. The alternative seating of the balance bagel and the ball chair will help students to stay better focused throughout the day. They do this by allowing the students to use and build up their core muscles by simulating that the students need to balance themselves in the chair. By doing this it allows the students to move and better focus on the task and learning that is taking place in the classroom. The FootFidget is a device that attaches to the bottom of the students desk and it allows the students to move and fidget with their feet in their desk. By allowing the students it makes it easier for the students to sit in their desk and focus. Giving the students the alternative seating will allow my students to use their energy for something positive and will allow them to focus and become better and more productive learners. Alternative seating is something that is new to the realm of teaching but it has shown through studies that it can be extremely helpful and a positive change in the classroom. By having the tool of alternative seating in the classroom, it will allow the kids in my class to be more productive because it will cut down on the behavior issues that come with students having to sit for long periods of time.
