The students in my Resource English Language Arts class are kids who have been consistently struggling to achieve their potential reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. We work together on hands-on, engaging projects, and research-based strategies, and I need help getting exciting materials into their hands. We are a public middle school with more than half of our population living below poverty. Students who struggle in reading and writing need high-interest materials to motivate them to persevere through frustration so they can grow as literate citizens.
