My second graders are active little learners! As we begin our journey toward flexible seating, it was clear that I needed seating that would appeal to their learning styles but also allow them the freedom to choose the space where they feel they would do their best work. Different seating choices for different needs! We would love to have a new carpet, wobbles stools, and bean bag chairs. Carpet time will be the place for targeted instructional time, as well as a seating choice during independent work. The benefits of flexible seating for my students include, increased personal responsibility, increased motivation, increased opportunities for movement, and having students learn to make responsible choices.
