My classroom is a place where Gr 2 and Gr 3 general music students explore and experience music through singing, dancing, movement, playing classroom instruments. In addition, all Gr 3 general music students learn to play the recorder and a select group of Gr 3 students are chosen to learn to play violin, viola or cello. My students include many ENL (English as a New Language) students, as there is a high immigrant population in the district. All students in my classroom learn the language of music and have many opportunities to express themselves, build confidence and shine through the medium of music.
