Our students love to create with their hands and we want to help them have that opportunity. We have decided that the students need more manipulatives to create with. We are making STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) bins to allow the children to find solutions to problems or simply create. Our students will get to choose a bin (could be popsicle sticks with velcro)and construct a given object (bridge). They will also have the opportunity to free build and create whatever they wish. STEM has become a huge part of education, at all levels, and we wish to incorporate more STEM into our classrooms to help foster 21st century learning. Children learn in many different ways and this allows for different learning types. Our students will work individually as well as in small groups. When working in small groups, the students will have to communicate with others and bounce their ideas off each other. Working in small groups will require them to share materials and ideas. Working together will be KEY!
