I love teaching science! My fifth grade students come to me excited about science, but with very little background knowledge. Our school is in a rural area with high poverty. We have 74% free/reduced lunch, making us a Provision II school with all students receiving free lunches. A high percentage of our students lack motivation to come to school, let alone do class work. I find that students are more interested in lessons that have a lab component. Therefore, I try to implement as many lab activities as possible.
