I LOVE teaching 3rd grade. My students are incredible, smart, caring, and very ACTIVE. Please help me create a classroom environment that is flexible, comfortable, and engaging. I want to offer time to my students where they can move and also relax while learning. There is a lot research out there showing a correlation between the subtle movements that flexible seating allows and an increase in student focus and engagement. Flexible seating will help make my classroom more accessible for my busy learners, increase student engagement, and will open my classroom up to a variety of learning styles. Here's what I'm thinking... bean bags in the classroom library area, lap desks on the floor for a place to work-other than their desks, active yoga balls for them to sit on while working at my guided reading table.
