I attended a workshop this summer that truly inspired me to be a better reading teacher. I learned a lot about guided reading. This practice allows students to have more of a say in what they read and allows me, the teacher, to really help students who need a little extra push. It is my wish to help my students not only read better, but enjoy reading! These boxes will hold (by the end of the year) 6-10 different student-selected books that students will read during independent reading time. I will teach them how to care for these boxes so that they can be used for many years to come.
