The students of the news team are so excited to get started on their daily news channel. We are working to bring a new perspective to the channel with brand new graphics and video mixing. They will serve as news anchors, meteorologists, and technical advisors where they will have to use time management skills to be sure they meet their deadlines. Students will have to work as a team to reach their goals and step outside of their comfort zones to experience new things. And while the news team is new, the technology they are working with is something that you might expect to see in a museum! The school still tunes in to the news studio through VCRs and coax connections. The studio computers are strugglingly to keep up with the amazing graphics and animations the students want to use to bring a fresh design to the channel. A new computer would allow us to take the first step in bringing the studio in to this decade of technology! The school population has already become more involved in the news program. Students are anxious to tune in for the latest and greatest information. They are cheering for their peers and encouraging them as they pass by during the day. We hope that by cultivating a successful news program we can help to continue to foster an environment of sharing and encouragement amongst the students.
