This year I want the students to focus on fractions, their focus will be on using real-world items such as wrenches and sockets. The students will be able to compare the different sizes and determine how they are different. Fractions are such an important part of their education and using real-world items such as these will deepen the students understanding. It will also give the students who are hands-on a great experience by keeping them engage. Keeping students engage in the classroom will enable them to be successful inside the classroom which will translate into productive members of their communities. The students will be using the tools to give the students some hands-on experiences. We will bring mechanical items that can be taken apart and put back together to help the students explore. Exploration will guide them and give them practical knowledge of how to repair household items.
