This project was inspired by my students that have struggled with anxiety, frustration, anger, or focus. These students have worked hard at finding what works best for them and I want to provide all of these tools in one calming place in our classroom. My students should have a place in the room that nurtures their feelings and provides them with the security to react to their emotions in a positive light. If this project is funded, my students will be able to use our calming nook to identify and calm emotions that can be overwhelming. It will be a place in our room full of research based tools to help calm any worries or distractions; so that they can reach their social and academic goals.
