My project is based on my needs to create a "workable" learning community. When I took this teaching position, I knew I would see struggling - but what I didn't know was that I would walk into a bare bones empty classroom. I had 3 student tables and 1 teacher desk. I have spent more than I have on book shelves, paper and writing instruments. I would love to have a listening center and an oversized big book selection like the Favorite Picture Book Read-alongs. A majority of my students are on a "Read to me" level. These two additional centers would give my students the exposure to text that they need to learn to actually read. Also, a storage cart would help with storing supplies, as I am still short of storage. The classroom work organizer would allow the students to see and retrieve all of the information they need for that day or in centers. Who doesn't love to sing? The song and activity would be the perfect addition to stimulate these 4- and 5-year-olds, or it can be used as when the students need a break. I would use the book holders for the students leveled reading center. I have trash picked things, signed up for consignment sites and gone to the flea market to scout out things for my room. However, the rest of the things I need, I need now as we have been back to school for 3 weeks already. Please help me, help my students! Please help me.
